The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) is an English language test designed to assess the readiness of non-native English speakers to participate in a university-level English language instruction program. Pearson created PTE Academic in response to demand from institutions, government and other organizations for a more accurate way of testing non-native English language students who enter the English-speaking academia world.
PTE Academic is a computer-based academic English language test aimed at non-native English speakers wanting to study abroad. In the PTE Academic exam format, there are four sections (exactly like IELTS exam) – Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing.

PTE Academic, which is the more popular of the two, is the English test accepted for University study in Australia, the UK, USA, Canada and more.PTE Academic is also approved for all Australian visa applications.
PTE Academic is accepted by thousands of universities worldwide, including prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School, INSEAD and Yale. PTE Academic is also accepted for visa purposes by the Australian and New Zealand governments.
The PTE Academic Preparation Course Outline is a foundation document to help with the design of preparation courses for PTE Academic. It provides a list of the suggested focus areas for lessons around which a preparation course can be built. The course outline is based on the main communicative skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing.
